Houston Dynamo Vs. San Jose Earthquakes

On August 23, 2025, the Houston Dynamo fell 2-1 at home to the San Jose Earthquakes in a closely contested match at Shell Energy Stadium. San Jose took the lead in the 28th minute when Cristian Arango finished off a low cross from DeJuan Jones.

The Earthquakes doubled their advantage in the 64th minute as Ian Harkes struck a powerful shot from distance after a headed pass from Daniel Munie.

Houston responded in the 72nd minute when Antônio Carlos scored his first goal for the club, heading in a Jack McGlynn corner. Despite late pressure and several chances in stoppage time, the Dynamo were unable to find an equalizer.

The result extended Houston’s winless streak to six matches, while San Jose strengthened their position in the Western Conference playoff race.
